Roll Cage

This roll cage was designed and
fitted by
Safety
Device, a company synonymous with supplying motor sport
competition vehicles with safety roll over bars.
Comprising of a main hoop, diagonal
and rear stays, front legs, front bar and door bars.
I am yet to determine it's
eligibility for Comp Safaris though.

Tree guards

The tree bars pass through the roof
skin and are welded onto the roll cage at the top of the door
opening
There are a number of fixing
locations to affix waffle boars, aerials and spot lamps.
I wonder if I can get a Hi-Lift jack
mounted up there as well ? |
|
Jackable rock slider sills

I'm yet to try these but they do
seem very solid and I expect then to work well
|
|
Tank and corner guards

The original 80L plastic fuel tank
has been replaced with a 60L steel tank, much higher up between
the chassis rails. There is also a steel tank guard and quater
protection bars

|
Winch bumper

A Winch Challenge vehicle would not
be complete without a winch and here we have a Warn 8000 winch
(with additional cooling fins), fitted to a Mantec fabricated
bumper. The winch is operable via the usual hand controller but
also a dash mount in/out switch.
|
|
Under body protection
The standard Frontera stering and
sump guard have been replaced with a substantial bash and skid
plating, which goes back almost half the length of the vehicle.
|
|
Snorkel

A seriously robust steel fabricated
snorkel, coupled with a K&N panel filter make a very pleasing
induction noise. |
